From June 17 – 22, 2017 dozens of Tall Ships from all over the world will sail into Boston Harbor for a 5-day maritime festival. The Boston Harbor Hotel is at the center of it all, with four Tall Ships docked exclusively at the hotel!  Guests will be able to enjoy premier views of the picturesque Tall Ships by simply walking out the back doors of the hotel, dining on Rowes Wharf Sea Grille’s terrace, taking a stroll on the HarborWalk or even from the privacy of their harbor-facing guest rooms.

Boston has a wealth of maritime history—both past and present. Bostonians welcome crews from all over the world to their harbor and are gearing up for the return of the Tall Ship fleet for Sail Boston 2017!

“Boston is an official port of the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta. The trans-Atlantic regatta will start in Royal Greenwich, UK. From there the fleet will race to Sines, Portugal, followed by Bermuda. The fleet will then race to Boston, for Sail Boston 2017. From Boston, the fleet will cruise in company north to Quebec City, Canada.” – Sail Boston website

The Boston Harbor Hotel is excited to welcome four Tall Ships to its docks on June 16, 2017.  Explore two of the visiting Tall Ships below, and stay tuned for the remaining two to be announced!

The Schooner Thomas E. Lannon was built in 1997 in Essex, MA. Berthed at historic Seven Seas Wharf at the Gloucester House Restaurant, Rogers Street, Gloucester, the Lannon offers two-hour sails and private charters from mid-May through mid-October.  Learn more about the Thomas E. Lannon here.

The EUROPA was built in 1911 on the Stülcken wharf in Hamburg, Germany. She was first named as ‘Senator Brockes’. The original client who ordered the ship was the State of Hamburg. The ship was built to serve as a light ship on the German river Elbe.  In 1986 the ship was brought to the Netherlands. In eight years time, the ship was completely renovated and re-rigged.  Learn more about the Europa here.
