Be part of The Boston Marathon® and help out a deserving charity at the same time – the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk is celebrating its 25th Anniversary on September 8, 2013, and is the only charity event allowed to walk the famous Boston Marathon® route, taking on Heartbreak Hill and finishing in Boston’s Back Bay. If the 26.2 mile Hopkinton to Boston course seems daunting, there are options for everyone, including a 13.1 mile Babson to Boston route, a 5 mile Boston College route and a 3 mile Dana-Farber route.
Fifteen dedicated participants have walked the course in each and every Jimmy Fund Walk and you can check back on their website to see more info on each of them in the upcoming weeks. Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has helped to increase the survival rate for adolescent and adult cancer patients around the world and more than $90 million dollars have been raised since 1989 when the first Walk occurred.
The Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf, located just 8 minutes from Copley Square where the walk finishes up, offers luxurious waterfront accommodations, where you can experience majestic views of Boston Harbor or the breathtaking city skyline. Each guestroom is designed with you in mind supplying you with the richest comforts in Boston. Come and refuel with a wonderful meal at Meritage or relax your tired body at The Spa at Rowes Wharf. We hope to welcome you soon.
