A very common trait in the vineyard and winery industry is to find that the business has been handed down through many generations. The next installments in the 2013 Boston Wine Festival are no exception.

Alfredo Prunotto began his wine-making career in 1904 as part of a community co-op where eventually, through perseverance and many struggles, he believed that the winery could be a success. Handed down through friends and family, Prunotto Winery is run today by the famed Tuscan winery Antinori and hosting this special dinner, accented by Chef Daniel Bruce’s cuisine, will be Emanuele Baldi, featuring the wines of Prunotto, including its Moscato, D’Asti Barbaresco and Barolo.
Chimney Rock Winery

Chimney Rock Winery, in the Stags Leap District in Napa Valley, was established in 1980 by Hack and Stella Wilson who were eventually joined by the Terlato family in 2000 as partners. The Terlato family – now sole owners of the winery – continues to create wines that enhance its reputation for producing some of the world’s great estate Cabernet Sauvignons. Winemaker, Elizabeth Vianna joins us to discuss the history and future of this extraordinary winery.
Domenico Clerico Winery

Inherited from his father, who was a grape grower and seller, Domenico Clerico has taken what was a small family business and made it into one of the most respected names in the region. Domenico Clerico Winery produces wines from four incredible vineyard holdings representing some of the greatest crus of the region. Luciano Racca presents the full range of wines, along with their pride and joy Percristina Barolo.
Hedges Family Estate

A relative newcomer to the generational wineries, Hedges Family Estate was founded in 1986 by Tom Hedges who is also joined by his children, Christophe and Sarah in running this family owned winery. Focusing on cabernet sauvignon, syrah and merlot blends, Hedges Family Estate treats their wines with reverence and lets the Red Mountain terroir speak for itself. Join Christophe Hedges as he presents these blends and his port style dessert wine from Red Mountain AVA in Washington State.
